Job summary

Brook Street is seeking a compassionate and resilient Support Worker to provide trauma-informed support to female survivors of domestic abuse across accommodation and community-based services. This role supports women in refuges and in the community, requiring sensitivity, resilience and a commitment to empowering clients.

You will complete risk and needs assessments, develop support plans, and help clients access housing, benefits and healthcare.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting vulnerable adults or families.
• Understanding of domestic abuse and safeguarding.
• Strong communication, advocacy and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide emotional and practical support to victims of domestic abuse
• Complete risk and needs assessments and develop support plans
• Support clients to access housing, benefits, healthcare and other services
• Manage a caseload and provide community outreach support
• Deliver recovery-focused interventions and programmes
• Work with partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes
• Maintain accurate records and safeguarding responsibilities
• Experience supporting vulnerable adults or families
• Understanding of domestic abuse and safeguarding
• Strong communication, advocacy and organisational skills
• Ability to manage a varied workload independently and as part of a team
