Job summary

Devon County Council seeks an experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join its Wellbeing Service, delivering specialist assessment and intervention for children, young people and their supporters within a restorative, trauma-informed framework.

You will work in a multidisciplinary team across education, social care and other settings, shaping practice for children at risk and those leaving care. HCPC registration is required.

Qualifications

• Requires HCPC registration and fitness to practise.
• Independent management of complex, highly specialised caseloads.
• Experience in multidisciplinary settings across education, social care and other settings.

Responsibilities

• Carry out assessment, intervention and consultation for children, young people and adults who support them
• Identify and respond to communication needs, especially for adversity and complex family situations
• Work with children on the edge of care, returning home, or leaving care
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to shape practice across the workforce
• Ensure timely, right-supported outcomes and influence practice
