Job summary

Devon Partnership NHS Trust is seeking a Speech and Language Therapist to work with children and young people in community and education settings, providing assessment, diagnosis and intervention for speech, language, communication and swallowing needs.

You will be HCPC registered and hold a recognised SLT degree, with experience in education or community settings and a commitment to high-quality governance and reporting.

Qualifications

• Recognised SLT degree or equivalent
• Registered member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT)
• HCPC licence to practise
• Relevant experience with children and young people in community/education settings
• Knowledge of assessment tools and established therapies for children
• Understanding of clinical governance and record-keeping standards

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of children and young people with speech, language and swallowing difficulties with support from senior colleagues
• Provide SLT assessment, diagnosis and treatment
• Deliver intervention and evaluate outcomes
• Advise families, early years and school staff on individual needs
• Set up and monitor programmes carried out by other key workers
• Write reports reflecting specialist knowledge
