Job summary

Esland in Barnsley is seeking a compassionate residential care worker to support young people aged 8 to 18 in a therapeutic, trauma-informed setting. You will build trusting relationships and help young people with emotional regulation, routines, education access, and personal development.

The role involves detailed record-keeping, safeguarding, and facilitating activities, with a 48-hour shift pattern (sleep-ins paid) and a 4-day break, plus paid holidays and overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience in care, education, mental health support and/or youth activities is desirable.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Right to work in the UK with no restrictions.
• Values based on a therapeutic, person-centred approach to childcare.
• Calm, compassionate and resilient attitude.

Responsibilities

• Support your young person with emotional regulation, routines and personal development.
• Keep detailed records and promote safeguarding at all times.
• Support activities, education access, interests and household responsibilities.
