Job summary

The Esland Group Ltd in Barnsley is seeking a dedicated Children’s Residential Support Worker to join our therapeutic care team. This full-time role supports young people, builds nurturing relationships and promotes their personal development within a trauma-informed framework.

You will work 48-hour shifts (including sleep-ins) with paid nights and a 4-day break, access to training and career development, and a supportive team environment in a 365-day service.

Qualifications

• Experience within care, education, mental health support and/or youth activities is highly desirable, but transferable skills and the right personality traits are valued.
• A full UK driving licence is required.
• Applicants must have the right to work in the UK without restrictions.
• A calm, compassionate and resilient approach is essential.
• Applicants must be aged 21 or above.

Responsibilities

• Support the young person with emotional regulation, daily routines and personal development
• Keep detailed records and uphold safeguarding at all times
• Assist with education access, engagement and household responsibilities
• Work 48-hour shifts including sleep-ins (paid) followed by a 4-day break within a 365-day service
