Job summary

Vetro Recruitment is seeking a Residential Support Worker in Liverpool, Merseyside, to care for children and young people in a specialist residential setting. You will follow care plans, promote emotional wellbeing, and safeguard effectively within a supportive team.

The role involves building trusted relationships, supporting daily routines, and encouraging independence through trauma-informed practices and consistent boundaries.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification in Children’s Residential Care or Health and Social Care (Children’s Pathway).
• Proven experience in residential care settings (min 12 months).
• Strong safeguarding, risk management and consistent practice within children’s residential services.

Responsibilities

• Providing high-quality residential care and emotional support to children and young people in line with care plans and safeguarding procedures.
• Building positive, trusting relationships and supporting emotional wellbeing using trauma-informed approaches and clear professional boundaries.
• Supporting day-to-day operations to ensure high standards of care, safeguarding, and compliance.
• Supporting education, hobbies, appointments, and daily routines, while encouraging independence and essential life skills.
• Promoting positive behaviour, maintaining accurate records, and collaborating with colleagues and external professionals around the young person.
