Job summary

Dovetail and Slate Ltd in Gloucestershire is seeking a Learning Mentor to provide trauma-informed, therapeutic support to learners aged 16-25 with SEMH and related needs. You will act as a key worker, building trusting relationships to support emotional wellbeing and readiness to learn.

The role involves collaboration with families and professionals, safeguarding duties, and data recording to track progress, with working hours 08:45–16:30, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable experience working with young people with SEMH and EHCPs
• Emotionally intelligent and professional communicator
• Able to apply trauma-informed approaches and coaching techniques
• Commitment to safeguarding and DBS checks

Responsibilities

• Act as a key worker for learners aged 16-25 with SEMH needs, autism and learning difficulties
• Build trusting, relational connections supporting emotional wellbeing, self-regulation and independence
• Apply trauma-informed and coaching-based approaches to support emotional regulation and readiness to learn
• Support learners with EHCPs to engage in education and develop skills for adulthood
• Collaborate with families, therapists and college staff to enable positive outcomes
• Maintain accurate records and support learners to progress towards meaningful next steps
