Job summary

Compass Community Limited is seeking a compassionate HLTA to join our school to support children with SEMH and SEND. You will work alongside teachers, deliver sessions to small groups or 1:1, manage resources, and help create a calm, structured learning environment.

You will wear many hats, adapting to changing needs, supporting trips, lunchtimes, and contributing to safeguarding and the school's therapeutic approach, with extensive training and supervision provided.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEMH/SEND preferred.
• Ability to work 1:1 or in small groups.
• Willingness to participate in safeguarding and training.

Responsibilities

• Support teachers in the classroom
• Deliver sessions with small groups or 1:1
• Manage classroom resources
• Take children on trips and visits
• Share lunch with children who struggle socially
• Manage heightened behaviours and keep children safe
• Play board games and celebrate successes
• Be part of therapy sessions or reflect on difficult periods
