Job summary

Compass Community Schools is seeking an HLTA to support children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH) and SEND in a trauma-informed setting. The role involves working 1:1 or in small groups, assisting teachers, and contributing to engaging classroom activities and displays.

Ideal candidates will be resilient, flexible, and student-focused, with the ability to adapt to varied daily needs and behaviours while prioritising pupil safety and safeguarding policies.

Qualifications

• Trauma-informed environment experience is a plus.
• Experience supporting children with SEMH/SEND.
• Ability to engage with children 1:1 and in small groups.

Responsibilities

• Support teachers in the classroom and with small group sessions.
• Manage classroom resources and assist with trips and activities.
• Contribute to safeguarding and child welfare procedures.
