Job summary

Compass Community Schools is seeking a devoted HLTA to support our pupils with SEMH and SEND needs. The role involves working in classrooms, delivering sessions 1:1 or in small groups, and helping manage resources and displays to create engaging learning environments.

Candidates should be resilient, flexible, and able to adjust to changing needs, while maintaining a non-judgmental and supportive approach. A manual driving licence is required for trips and activities.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with complex and challenging behaviours.
• Ability to engage children with SEMH and SEND needs.
• Able to work as part of a trauma-informed team.

Responsibilities

• Support teachers in the classroom.
• Work with children 1:1 or in small groups.
• Manage classroom resources and displays.
• Take children on trips (manual vehicle use).
• Engage with therapy sessions where appropriate.
• Foster a safe and supportive learning environment.
