Job summary

Riverside is seeking an Engagement and Development Worker to join a dedicated team on Wirral, delivering personalised programmes that empower customers to achieve their goals. You will co-create activity programmes with customers and partners to broaden opportunities and promote independence.

Work includes safeguarding, risk assessment, and working within supported housing settings; the role supports diverse communities and involves cross-service collaboration to improve outcomes.

Qualifications

• Understanding the barriers faced by vulnerable and diverse customer groups and individuals with complex needs.
• Ability to work on own initiative.
• Knowledge of risk assessment and health and safety requirements.
• Experience of devising and delivering activity programmes within supported housing.
• Team player with a caring, empathetic, flexible and resilient attitude.
• Excellent time management and communication skills.
• Ability to demonstrate initiative and make decisions.
• Competent administrative and IT skills and ability to produce reports and other communications.

Responsibilities

• Engage customers to meet agreed outcomes and develop independent living skills.
• Co-produce Riverside’s commitment statements with customers across services.
• Apply for grants and fund-raising for planned activities and events.
• Encourage customers to lead their own interest groups and sessions.
• Market programme of activities to ensure broad participation.
• Identify opportunities for employment, education and training and support access to them.
• Deliver a programme of activities reflecting diverse customer needs, including culture and diversity.
• Signpost customers to external support services, including food banks and community resources.
• Support customers in budgeting and maintaining financial independence.
