Job summary

Inspire EHC Ltd seeks an Emotions and Behaviour Support Specialist (Trauma-Informed Practice) to assist pupils with SEMH needs near Bury St Edmunds. You will help students feel safe, build confidence and re-engage with learning in a supportive setting.

The role involves one-to-one and small group support with a multidisciplinary team, focusing on emotional wellbeing, resilience, and personal growth. Prior trauma-informed experience is valued.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths (Grade 4/C or equivalent).
• Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH or trauma-related needs.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed practice and de-escalation techniques.

Responsibilities

• Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils.
• Support emotional regulation through trauma-informed approaches.
• Help pupils understand and manage behaviours linked to ACEs and unmet needs.
• Provide consistent guidance and positive role-modeling.
• Assist learners to access learning inside and outside the classroom.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists and senior staff on support plans.
• Promote social development, wellbeing and self-esteem.
