Job summary

Aspire People is recruiting SEMH Support Workers, Behavioural Specialists and Specialist Teachers to work in schools and specialist provisions across Bury and surrounding areas.

We seek experienced professionals who can support pupils with SEMH needs, including challenging behaviour, emotional dysregulation and trauma-related needs. Roles include long-term, short-term and flexible day-to-day placements with dedicated recruitment support.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH needs or behavioural difficulties.
• Ability to de‑escalate challenging situations and support emotional regulation.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Patience, resilience and empathy when working with pupils.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with SEMH needs.
• Support pupils displaying challenging behaviour and emotional regulation difficulties.
• Implement positive behaviour support strategies and individual behaviour plans.
• Help pupils develop emotional regulation, resilience and social skills.
• Build trusting relationships and work with teachers and SENCOs to ensure consistency.
• De-escalate situations calmly and maintain a safe learning environment.
• Support pupils to re-engage with learning and improve attendance.
