Job summary

Hockley House, Romsey, is a pioneering residential children’s home in Hampshire for 12–18s with complex needs. As a Support Worker, you will build trusting relationships, provide holistic support, and help residents grow independence and achieve positive outcomes.

Join a brand-new service working with residential, health and education professionals to create a safe, nurturing environment. A Level 3 Diploma or willingness to achieve it with support is required, along with excellent communication

Qualifications

• Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or willingness to achieve with support.
• Understanding of child development, safeguarding and trauma-informed care.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Compassionate, resilient and child-centred approach.
• Ability to remain calm and adaptable in challenging situations.
• Confidence using IT systems and maintaining accurate records.

Responsibilities

• Build trauma-informed relationships with children, young people, families and professionals.
• Provide high-quality physical, emotional and practical support in a safe environment.
• Support children and young people to achieve positive outcomes in education, life skills and personal development.
• Contribute to care plans, maintain records and prepare reports for families and agencies.
• Promote safeguarding and wellbeing through risk assessment and safe practices.
• Work with a multi-disciplinary team to deliver therapeutic care and support plans.
