Job summary

Hampshire County Council’s Hockley House in Romsey is seeking a dedicated Children's Home Support Worker. You will join a brand-new residential service for 12-18 year-olds, collaborating with health, care and education professionals to provide trauma-informed support in a safe, nurturing environment.

Key duties include building trusted relationships, contributing to care plans, maintaining records and supporting education and life-skills development while upholding safeguarding and wellbeing

Qualifications

• A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or willingness to achieve with our support.
• Understanding of child development, safeguarding & trauma-informed care.
• Excellent communication & relationship-building skills.
• Compassionate, resilient & child-centred approach.
• Ability to remain calm & adaptable in challenging situations.
• Confidence using IT systems & maintaining accurate records.

Responsibilities

• Build positive, trauma-informed relationships with children, young people, families & professionals.
• Provide high-quality physical, emotional and practical support in a safe, nurturing environment.
• Support children to achieve positive outcomes in education, life skills & personal development.
• Contribute to care plans, maintain accurate records & prepare reports for families & agencies.
• Promote safeguarding & wellbeing through risk assessment & safe working practices.
• Work with a multi-disciplinary team to deliver therapeutic care & support plans.
