Job summary

Hampshire County Council is recruiting a Children’s Home Support Worker for the Odiham area. The role involves day-to-day care and emotional support in a residential home for up to four children up to 17, focusing on safeguarding, education, and wellbeing.

You will work within a trauma-informed framework to help reunite families or enable independent living, with training provided under the Pillars of Parenting approach.

Qualifications

• Compassionate and resilient individuals are sought.
• Patience and empathy are essential to support children who may have experienced trauma.
• Willingness to complete Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare if not held already.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day care and emotional support to children living in the home.
• Help create a safe, nurturing environment where children feel valued and understood.
• Support health and wellbeing needs, education, and engagement in activities.
• Collaborate with colleagues and professionals to ensure best outcomes for each child.
