Job summary

Hertfordshire County Council is recruiting for roles within the Family Safeguarding Children in Care (FSCIC) Team and related adolescent services. You will work in a multidisciplinary setting to support children and families at risk, delivering trauma-informed, relationship-based interventions.

The role includes flexible hours, some evenings and weekends, and potential secondment options with guidance from line management.

Qualifications

  • Experience with case management including assessment, action planning and reviews.
  • Experience delivering and evaluating support activities with young people and their carers.
  • Knowledge of issues affecting young people at risk of exploitation.
  • Knowledge of equality and diversity issues.
  • Knowledge of child development and adolescent needs.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding where children are at risk of intrafamilial harm.

Responsibilities

  • Provide intensive, relationship-based support to children, young people aged 10+ and families to help them remain safely at home.
  • Work with young people facing complex challenges including exploitation and family breakdown.
  • Build positive relationships with children, young people and families and tailor approaches.
  • Use evidence-based interventions with specialist partners to achieve lasting change.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and partner agencies to develop and deliver effective support plans.
  • Maintain accurate case records and ensure proper documentation.
