Job summary

Hillingdon Council is recruiting a Family Help Social Worker to support children from Child in Need to Child Protection within locality-based teams. You will build strong relationships with families and partners, carrying out thorough assessments and delivering effective plans.

The role offers flexible and hybrid working arrangements, ongoing supervision and learning opportunities, with a commitment to trauma-informed practice and improving outcomes for children.

Qualifications

• Qualified social worker with BA/MA or equivalent.
• Registered with Social Work England.
• Experience in statutory children’s services.
• Knowledge of safeguarding legislation and child development.

Responsibilities

• Build trusted, relationship-based partnerships with children, young people and families.
• Complete high-quality assessments identifying strengths, risks and needs.
• Develop and deliver Child in Need and Child Protection plans.
• Lead interventions to improve safety, wellbeing and resilience.
• Collaborate with schools, health, police, and community partners.
• Maintain accurate records and reports to support high-quality practice.
• Contribute to a trauma-informed service.
