Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment LTD. is seeking a compassionate Primary Teacher for a 1:1 role in a Burnley-area Alternative Provision setting.

The teacher will deliver a bespoke curriculum combining core literacy and numeracy with practical, outdoor and equine-assisted learning to support a pupil with EHCP targets. Applicants should hold QTS or equivalent, have SEND/SEMh experience, and be comfortable with trauma-informed practice.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• Experience supporting primary pupils with SEMH/ASC/trauma in Alternative Provision or SEND settings
• Comfortable in outdoor environments and around horses/equine therapy settings
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service or willingness to obtain one
• Trauma-informed approaches and de-escalation skills

Responsibilities

• Deliver 1:1 primary curriculum instruction across literacy, numeracy, and topic work
• Incorporate outdoor activities and equine therapy to support emotional regulation
• Design multi-sensory learning interventions aligned to EHCP targets
• Build rapport using trauma-informed practice and positive behaviour strategies
• Collaborate with therapists and pastoral teams to monitor progress and ensure a safe environment
