Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment LTD. is recruiting a resilient Instructor / Unqualified Teacher for a nature-focused Alternative Provision in Barnoldswick. You will blend practical outdoor activities with literacy, numeracy and life skills through "sneaky teaching" without needing QTS.

You will work with vulnerable pupils (SEMH) in small groups, delivering learning outdoors and in nurture spaces, with a clear path to a permanent post and a salary reaching up to £33,000 per annum on PAYE.

Qualifications

• Background in youth work or outdoor activity roles; trauma-informed experience preferred.
• Ability to de-escalate crises and provide safeguarding support.
• Comfort delivering both practical outdoor tasks and classroom-based projects.

Responsibilities

• Engage vulnerable pupils (SEMH) in outdoor and nurture settings.
• Deliver disguised learning (sneaky teaching) through practical tasks.
• Split timetable between outdoor spaces and nurture classrooms.
• Work in small groups with high levels of support staff.
• Mentor pupils, recognize crisis signs, and use restorative conversations.
• Support trauma-informed approaches and discussions around substance misuse.
