Fresh Direct in Dagenham is seeking a Transport Team Leader with experience in a busy operational transport environment. You will support the Distribution Manager in the daily operations of our Transport Department.

As Transport Team Leader, you will provide effective administrative support to drivers and the Transport Management team, ensuring smooth delivery across London. Your main responsibilities include managing drivers’ rota, route planning, covering drivers’ holidays, maintaining agency control, and ensuring legal and procedural compliance. You will deploy vehicles and drivers to meet business and customer needs, and ensure all transport paperwork is completed accurately and in line with company policies.

You should be comfortable performing administration duties in a fast-paced environment, with strong attention to detail, especially regarding Tachographs and system maintenance like Titan and Prophet. The role requires working on computers, in person, and over the phone, all in accordance with transport legislation, company policies, and procedures. Building good relationships with other departments and customers is essential, as well as managing and resolving delivery issues in coordination with Customer Services. Previous leadership experience and knowledge of the Working Time Directive are essential for managing a team of drivers and drivers’ mates.
