Role Purpose

The purpose of the Transport Supervisor is to support the Transport and Compliance Managers on shift and assist in the transport operational running of the site. You will work with our driver teams to ensure timely dispatch, conduct effective driver briefs and debriefs, and support safety and legal compliance management.

Key Responsibilities

1. Ensure all workers are fully compliant with legislative requirements.
2. Brief and debrief drivers to ensure understanding and action on instructions for their runs.
3. Review driver daily check sheets, ensure vehicles are roadworthy, and defects and incidents are reported and addressed.
4. Ensure all new drivers (FTE, Agency) are licensed checked, assessed, and inducted before their first shift.
5. Download information from digital tachographs at the start and end of each shift.
6. Manage vehicle maintenance, service planning, and VOR to ensure vehicles are fit for the road.
7. Undertake H&S tasks such as yard walks and vehicle checks.

Skills and Qualifications

1. Experience in collating reports on driver information, including Digi tachographs and Health & Safety for site and drivers.
2. Experience in route optimization and problem-solving as a Transport Shift Supervisor.
3. Familiarity with TMS systems such as Isotrak, Tachomaster, Ortec, or equivalent.
4. Proficiency in PC use, especially Windows, MS Office, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
