Transport Team Leader - DE74

Manpower is recruiting a Transport Team Leader to join our client in DE74.

Main Duties:

  1. Operations: Ensure adherence to all Transport processes and oversee domestic and special customer planning, as well as daily road operations. Focus on service levels, cost control, and revenue recovery. Manage mis-labelled and ADD freight issues due to driver error. Cover ASH as required.
  2. Leadership: First-line management of the team, ensuring effective people management, team ethics, and handling escalations and dispute resolution. Drive efficiency and solutions, and perform performance management including RTWs, counseling, and disciplinary actions if needed.
  3. People: Ensure team competence and regular updates on performance and safety. Conduct investigations and counseling in line with company policies, maintaining constant communication with drivers and colleagues.
  4. Compliance: Manage transport resources in line with company procedures and legal requirements, especially for Dangerous Goods and O License commitments.
  5. Facility: Maintain high standards of hygiene and housekeeping, reporting faults to the FM.
  6. QSHE: Ensure colleagues work safely according to work instructions, and report near misses and accidents.
  7. Metrics: Achieve targets for productivity and quality to meet KPI's and SLA's.
  8. Communication: Conduct daily team reviews and briefings, ensuring effective and timely dissemination of information.
  9. Succession Planning: Identify talent at operative level, bring it to the attention of Shift Managers, and deputize for Shift Managers when required.

Salary: £34,000 - £38,000 DOE

Hours: Monday to Friday, 11am-7:30pm

This is a temp-to-perm opportunity with an ASAP start.
