Manpower is recruiting a Transport Shift Team Leader to join our client in DE74. This is a first line management role responsible for a team of Transport operatives and drivers, ensuring smooth transport operations.

As part of the leadership team, effective communication with your team is essential to ensure understanding of processes, priorities, new initiatives, and safety or quality issues.

Main Duties

1. Operations: Ensure adherence to all Transport processes and oversee domestic and special customer planning, daily road operations, cost control, and revenue recovery. Manage mis-labelled and ADD freight issues, and provide ASH cover as needed.
2. Leadership: First-line management, fostering strong team ethics, managing escalations, resolving disputes, driving efficiency, and conducting performance management including RTWs, counseling, and disciplinary hearings.
3. People: Ensure team competence, regular updates on performance and safety, conduct investigations and counseling, and maintain communication with drivers and colleagues.
4. Compliance: Manage transport resources in accordance with company policies and legal requirements, especially for Dangerous Goods and O License commitments.
5. Facility: Maintain hygiene and housekeeping standards, report facility faults to FM.
6. QSHE: Ensure safety compliance, report near misses and accidents.
7. Metrics: Achieve productivity and quality targets to meet KPIs and SLAs.
8. Communication: Conduct daily team briefings, ensure effective information dissemination.
9. Succession Planning: Identify talent and prepare for future leadership roles, deputize for Shift Managers when needed.

Salary: £34,000 - £38,000 DOE

Working hours: Monday to Friday, 11am-7:30pm
