Join to apply for the Transport Team Leader role at TOM ORANGE RECRUITMENT LTD.

Out Customer is looking for a 4 On 4 off Night Team Leader to join their team.

Applicants will be expected to effectively support the Transport Manager, manage transport movements including factory clearance, ensure all orders are planned as required, and maintain excellent customer service within budget.

Key Tasks

1. Manage daily plans via operators using relevant software, ensuring accurate resource allocation.
2. Coordinate loads with warehouse management in line with plans.
3. Ensure operators communicate delays to stakeholders.
4. Audit driver packs and brief drivers at departure.
5. Monitor loads live and manage delays to ensure delivery.
6. Proactively address potential issues in transportation schedules.
7. Manage front desk administration and maintain accurate records.
8. Handle POD and report issues to line manager.
9. Engage with customers to address inquiries and maintain relationships.
10. Produce daily shift reports and handovers.
11. Verify driver licenses for compliance.
12. Ensure routes comply with legal and safety regulations.
13. Complete sickness, absence, and return-to-work reports.
14. Support investigations, disciplinaries, and grievances confidentially.
15. Complete incident reports, e.g., RTC, staff injury, near miss.

Specific Requirements

Qualifications and Experience

• Experience in a similar role with knowledge of transport planning and operations.
• Proficient with transport software.
• Knowledge of drivers' hours regulations and working time rules.
• Good knowledge of UK geography and journey time estimation.
• Problem-solving initiative and determination.
• Excellent verbal communication and rapport-building skills.
• Transport Manager CPC qualification is desirable.
