Qualifications

• Experience working in a fast-paced environment with varying daily tasks.
• Proven track record supervising and developing a team in a complex transport setting.
• Good understanding of compliance and driver hours in transport operations.
• Proficient with computers for emails, dispatching drivers and handovers.
• Experience building teams and working collaboratively to meet targets.
• Ability to perform in a time-critical environment and adapt quickly.
• Some familiarity with C+E drivers is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage outbound radial deliveries to customer sites and production loads at the central warehouse.
• Achieve KPIs related to QHSE, Radial OTIF and production lead times.
• Provide leadership and direction to a team of radial and articulated drivers.
• Monitor and develop driver training schedules.
• Plan proactively with other departments to resolve issues and improve processes.
• Act as on-site escalation point for customers at Ashington.
• Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Drive a culture of continuous improvement and lead process improvement activities.
• Control and manage driver resource to maximize service and efficiency.
• Oversee the depot’s TMS to ensure accurate information for stakeholders.
• Ensure Health, Safety, Security and Environment procedures are followed; challenge non-conformance.
• Coordinate with central functions to maintain vehicle compliance.
