Job summary

Evri is recruiting a Transport Shift Manager for the Barnsley Hub to lead overnight transport operations, ensuring safe, compliant and on-time parcel movement through our network.

You will own shift performance, supervise despatch activities, deliver peak plans, conduct risk assessments and drive KPI-driven improvements while building a high-performance team.

Qualifications

• CPC National qualification.
• Strong knowledge of transport operations.
• PC literacy to produce reports and analyse data.
• Full, current UK driving licence.
• Ability to work on your own initiative and stay calm under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Oversee despatch activities and daily transport operations.
• Support planning to meet forecasted volumes and targets.
• Conduct health & safety audits, risk assessments and safe systems of work.
• Monitor shift performance, drive continuous improvement with KPI analysis.

debriefs Managing a multi-channel transport operation, despatching parcels daily through the primary network during peak periods and overseeing weekly B2C collections Supporting the Transport Operations Manager in developing and delivering peak plans aligned to forecasted volumes, automation changes, financial targets and resourcing needs Leading by example to create a high-performance, people-focused culture through strong employee engagement, regular 1-2-1s, performance reviews and team meetings Taking full accountability for Health & Safety and quality audits, including risk assessments and safe systems of work within the Hub Owning overall shift performance across compliance, service levels, H&S and employee engagement Producing detailed end-of-shift reports, root-causing KPI failures and providing evidence-based action plans to drive continuous improvement
