DHL, an award-winning leading supply chain business, is seeking a Transport Shift Manager to play a vital role in coordinating our daily logistics requirements. To succeed in this role, you should have comprehensive knowledge of supply chain management practices and a demonstrable understanding of warehouse procedures, including storing goods, dispatching orders, and tracking transportation vehicles.

WHAT DOES THE ROLE ENTAIL?

• Responsible for driver and fleet legal compliance in accordance with DHL Asset Management Centre of Excellence standards
• Accountable for the delivery of all aspects of the shift operation, ensuring efficient & customer-focused service
• Ensuring all crews (including agency) are appropriately inducted, trained, and familiarized with operations and equipment, with accurate records kept
• Ensure accident/investigation packs are completed to a high standard promptly for sign-off
• Deputising for the Transport Manager as required
• Scheduling, preparing, and conducting quarterly 1-2-1s with all direct reports in line with OMS guidelines
• Managing disciplinary and grievance procedures according to company policy, including conducting 1-2-1s within guidelines
• Ensuring all drivers are aware of and comply with accident and breakdown management procedures via DHL standard operating protocols, including Golden Hour, and more

WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?

• Previous demonstrative experience as an Operations Manager within a transport environment
• Comprehensive knowledge of supply chain management
• Understanding and practical knowledge of logistics software packages
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage, organize, and train direct reports
• A recognized qualification in Supply Chain Management or Logistics is preferred
