We have a vacancy within our Passenger Transport Department as a Transport Service Technician. The role is based in the office environment within the Councils Passenger Transport Depot in Tiers Cross. The position will be responsible for providing technical and administrative support and assistance to the Technician in Charge in the running of an efficient vehicle maintenance workshop.
To source, order, take delivery, manage and issue materials to the fleet workshop in accordance with prescribed audit and procurement regulations. To ensure that parts are sourced from the most financially viable provider.
The successful candidate will also take an active role in monitoring and providing daily tasks undertaken by workshop staff and will need have a full driving license. Hours of employment will be 37hrs per week plus overtime, the Transport Service Technician is Salary Grade 5 - £27,709 - £28,608 pa (based on 37hrs per week). Fixed term for 12 months.
