Job summary

Pembrokeshire County Council in Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire, UK, seeks a motivated Job Coach to support people across Pembrokeshire and occasional Ceredigion on their journey toward sustainable employment.

You will deliver one-to-one coaching under the DWP Restart Scheme, helping Universal Credit claimants who have been out of work for six months or more, and work with employers and training providers to create opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Bilingual fluency in Welsh and English is desirable.
  • Strong background in employability, advice and guidance, recruitment, or customer service.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, relationship-building and problem solving.
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently, manage a caseload and hit targets.
  • Good understanding of local employment and recruitment landscape.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with long-term unemployed individuals, guiding them through their employment journey.
  • Provide one-to-one support to overcome personal and practical barriers to employment.

Imagine being the reason someone gets their confidence back. Imagine helping someone land their first job in years. As a Job Coach, you’ll work with people across Pembroke Dock or Haverfordwest who’ve been out of work for a while – helping them take real steps toward a brighter future.

Futureworks is looking for a motivated and empathetic Job Coach to join our employability team, working across Pembrokeshire and south Ceredigion you will be supporting people on their journey back into sustainable employment.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering the DWP Restart Scheme, aimed at helping Universal Credit claimants who have been unemployed for 6 months or more find meaningful work.

In this role, you will:
  • Work directly with individuals who are long-term unemployed, guiding them through their employment journey
  • Provide one-to-one support to overcome personal and practical barriers to employment
  • Offer tailored coaching, job search support, confidence building, and re-training guidance
  • Collaborate with local employers, training providers, and other stakeholders to create employment opportunities
  • Build strong, positive relationships and act as a trusted, motivational adviser
  • Track progress, meet performance targets, and celebrate client successes along the way
What we’re looking for:
  • Bilingual fluency in Welsh and English is desirable – you’ll be engaging with individuals and businesses across Ceredigion
  • A strong background in employability, advice and guidance, recruitment, or customer service
  • Excellent interpersonal skills – you're a natural relationship-builder, motivator, and problem solver
  • A self-starter with the ability to work independently, manage a caseload, and hit targets
  • A good understanding of the local employment and recruitment landscape, including self-employment options

Additional Information:
  • You’ll need access to your own transport, as the role involves travel throughout Pembrokeshire and occasionally Ceredigion.
