Job summary

Loom Talent is recruiting a Transport Planner for a long-established, privately owned food business in Lancashire. The role is based on-site in the Preston area and is a full-time, permanent position, Tuesday to Saturday.

You will join a close-knit transport office, building and adjusting the daily plan for inbound collections, temperature-controlled deliveries and third-party work, while solving live problems and liaising with customers, drivers and site teams to keep work moving.

Qualifications

• Proven transport planning experience.

Responsibilities

• Build and adjust the daily transport plan for inbound collections, temperature-controlled deliveries and third-party work.
• Resolve live issues by re-planning when drivers run out of hours or routes change.
• Liaise with customers, drivers and site teams to keep work moving and vehicles well utilised.
• Use planning and vehicle tracking systems to keep the plan accurate and compliant with drivers' hours and WTD rules.
