Position Type: Permanent, full-time

We are looking for the right individual to support our Specialist Haulage team in Southampton.

As a Specialist Haulage Transport Planner, you will be responsible for planning the loading and unloading of cargo and freight shipments while maintaining customer relationships, ensuring requirements and service levels are met from customer enquiries through to job completion. You will also have the opportunity to get involved in various projects, sharing our culture and belief that health and safety is the number one priority.

Key responsibilities

  • Raise accurate quotes for loading and unloading of cargo and road transport to ensure departmental profitability.
  • Ensure all containers and cargo movements are correctly arranged and booked into and out of internal and external systems, keeping costs minimal.
  • Coordinate activities of Cargo Handlers team regarding loading and unloading cargo.
  • Arrange with customers for pickup and collection of equipment/cargo as required to complete the job.
  • Serve as a point of contact for cargo-related or specialist haulage enquiries.
  • Obtain and secure the best prices for any purchases or services required.
  • Achieve customer service levels with all customers according to minimum targets.
  • Finalize jobs on internal systems with revenue and costs for invoicing processing.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a similar role within shipping lines, port operations, haulage, or container handling operations.
  • Knowledge of Road Haulage.
  • Strong team player.
