Job summary

Macfarlane Group UK Ltd in Cumbernauld, Scotland is seeking an experienced Transport Planner to plan and schedule routes for deliveries, ensure drivers are prepared, and maintain compliance with transport procedures. The role is full-time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, office-based onsite.

You will coordinate vehicle maintenance, manage the delivery booking log, support driver debriefs, and liaise with the Central Transport Team to schedule repairs and track records.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year in a transport planning role and proficiency with route scheduling software.
• Knowledge of transport compliance.
• Familiarity with delivery processes and driver debriefing procedures.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Plan and update daily routes using scheduling software; coordinate with drivers and Warehouse Manager.
• Coordinate transport activities across a multi-site operation; lead daily transport meetings.
• Manage the delivery booking log and ensure details are logged and communicated to drivers.
• Support daily driver debriefs; record issues and action follow-ups.
• Document driver feedback on routes, loads and compliance; escalate as needed.
• Liaise with Central Transport Team to plan vehicle repairs and servicing; track records.
• Track fuel and consumables; assist with reordering to keep supplies on hand.
• Act as first point of contact for driver/supplier queries and route them to the right team.
• Uphold compliance with all company policies.
