Macfarlane Group UK Ltd in Cumbernauld, Scotland is seeking an experienced Transport Planner to plan and schedule routes for deliveries, ensure drivers are prepared, and maintain compliance with transport procedures. The role is full-time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, office-based onsite.

You will coordinate vehicle maintenance, manage the delivery booking log, support driver debriefs, and liaise with the Central Transport Team to schedule repairs and track records.

Responsibilities

Transport Planner
Location: Cumbernauld, Deerdykes
Salary: Negotiable depending on experience
Hours: Full time, 37.5 per week, Monday-Friday

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Transport Planner to join the team. The role is full-time 37.5 hours a week on a permanent contract, working Monday-Friday onsite office based.

Transport Planner Role

As our Transport Planner, you will be responsible for the planning and scheduling of transport routes for deliveries ensuring drivers are prepared, supplies are maintained, and administrative tasks are handled efficiently. This role includes coordinating vehicle maintenance, managing emails, and supporting the team with various logistical tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and update daily routes using Paragon, E7 and Abaca, working closely with drivers and the Warehouse Manager to keep schedules aligned with operational needs
• Co-ordinate transport activities across a multi-site operation, leading the daily transport meeting to confirm customer deliveries and keep stakeholders aligned
• Manage the delivery booking log and wider booking coordination, ensuring all details are logged accurately and communicated to drivers
• Support daily driver debriefs, recording issues and passing follow-up actions to the relevant team members
• Document driver feedback on routes, loads and compliance issues, updating systems and escalating to your manager as needed
• Liaise with the Central Transport Team to plan and book vehicle repairs, PMIs and MOTs, aligning site stakeholders with the servicing schedule and tracking records to ensure vehicles are presented on time
• Track fuel, AdBlue and other transport consumables, helping with reordering to keep supplies on hand
• Act as first point of contact for driver, supplier and department queries, managing emails and directing them to the right team members
• Uphold compliance with all company policies
