Job summary

White Recruitment Limited is seeking an experienced Transport Planner for the Motherwell area. The role involves planning and optimizing UK-wide vehicle routes and ensuring compliance with drivers’ hours regulations and the Working Time Directive.

You will keep customers informed and manage transport administration and contractor negotiations. Container transport experience is highly desirable, with opportunities to broaden experience across multiple transport operations.

Qualifications

• Strong transport planning and route optimisation experience.
• Container transport experience highly desirable.
• Excellent UK geographical knowledge.
• Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• A proactive approach to planning and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Plan and optimise UK-wide vehicle routes cost-effectively.
• Ensure compliance with Working Time Directive (WTD) and drivers' hours regulations.
• Keep customers informed and ensure excellent service.
• Complete transport administration, costing and contractor rate negotiations.
• Work closely with management to ensure vehicles meet company standards and compliance requirements.
