Job summary

Irlam Associates are recruiting a Transport Planner for a Deeside-based role. You will plan and coordinate routes, allocate drivers and vehicles, and ensure timely deliveries and collections. Shifts are 05:00–14:00 or 13:00–22:00, with in-person work location. Experience in transport planning and knowledge of drivers' hours are essential.

The position offers a salary of £30,000-£33,500 per year with opportunities to optimise daily operations and resource use in a busy logistics environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in transport planning within a transport or logistics operation.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise a busy workload.
• Confident communication and practical approach to resolving operational issues.
• Understanding of drivers' hours and transport compliance.
• Good IT skills, with experience using transport planning systems.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate daily routes, deliveries and collections.
• Allocate drivers and vehicles to meet customer requirements and use resources efficiently.
• Monitor transport activity and adjust plans to manage delays or changing priorities.
• Communicate with drivers, customers and warehouse teams to keep operations running smoothly.
• Support compliance with drivers' hours and working time requirements.
• Maintain accurate transport records and provide clear shift handovers.
