Job summary

Freightserve Recruitment in the Hounslow area is seeking a Transport Planner to manage day-to-day planning for the transport department's workload, using a small fleet of HGV vehicles.

The role focuses on organising collections and deliveries, coordinating drivers, communicating movements, and keeping customers updated while maintaining strong relationships with key contacts. Hours are Mon-Fri 08:30-18:00; Freightserve has been established since 1992 in Freight Forwarding and Shipping.

Responsibilities

• Co-ordinate the allocation of company drivers.
• Ensure all movement instructions are communicated accurately and efficiently to drivers.
• Monitor movements throughout the day and proactively manage potential delays, disruptions or changes.
• Maintain strong and professional working relationships with key customers and operational contacts.
• Respond promptly and effectively to operational queries and requests.
• Provide customers with accurate updates regarding the status of movements.
• Manage customer expectations where delays, changes or operational difficulties arise.

Transport Planner is responsible for the effective day-to-day Planning of the transport department's daily workload using the company's small fleet of HGV vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:-

• Start to finish with transport planning
• Plan and organise collections and deliveries in accordance with customer requirements, agreed schedules, available capacity and operational priorities.

Working hours are Monday to Friday 0830 - 1800.
