Pertemps Bond is seeking a proactive Transport Planner in Edmonton to coordinate daily deliveries and collections, allocate work to drivers, and keep customers informed of expected times. The role requires strong organisational and communication skills within a fast-paced plant hire setting.

You will work closely with the Transport Manager to ensure on-time departures and efficient vehicle loading, with duties including liaising with customers, suppliers, and third-party providers, and reporting

Formación

• Previous transport planning or coordination experience.
• Good knowledge of UK geography and route planning.
• Experience working with vehicles from 3.5T up to HGV Class 1.
• Understanding of driving legislation and vehicle loading requirements.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, PowerPoint and Excel.
• Ability to work independently and use initiative.

Responsabilidades

• Coordinate daily deliveries and collections, ensuring work is planned and allocated efficiently.
• Arrange delivery and collection booking slots with customers.
• Keep customers updated on expected arrival and collection times.
• Liaise with customers to ensure transport requirements are met.
• Allocate work to drivers via the PDA and driving scheduler.
• Check driver loads before vehicles leave the depot and on return.
• Coordinate collection and return of equipment from suppliers and other depots.
• Liaise with third-party transport providers.
• Contact customers the day before deliveries/collections to confirm requirements.
• Provide regular transport reports to the Transport Manager.
• Ensure deliveries leave the depot on time and collections are within timescales.
• Support the wider transport operation and identify efficiency improvements.
