Irlam Associates Ltd are recruiting a Junior Transport Planner at our Bristol depot. You will support planning of collections and deliveries, helping ensure vehicles and drivers are used efficiently while maintaining high standards of customer service.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate collection and delivery schedules for a mixed fleet of vehicles.
• Allocate drivers, vehicles and trailers to meet customer requirements.
• Identify backload opportunities to maximise vehicle utilisation.
• Use transport management systems and customer portals to maintain accurate plans and bookings.
• Communicate with drivers, customers and colleagues, providing updates on schedules and operational delays.
• Work with the workshop to factor vehicle servicing and availability into transport plans.
• Ensure routes account for drivers’ permitted driving and duty hours.
• Support customer bookings, quotations and clear handovers within the transport team.

Salary: A 6-Month FTC based on a salary of £29,741 per annum.

Contract: Six-month fixed-term contract, with potential to remain with the business based on performance.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate collection and delivery schedules for a mixed fleet of vehicles.
• Allocate drivers, vehicles and trailers to meet customer requirements.
