Recruitable Staffing Solutions is seeking a Transport Planner for a busy Norwich operation. You will plan daily routes, allocate drivers and vehicles, and keep customers informed.

This temp-to-perm role offers progression to permanent employment after a successful trial period. The successful candidate will have transport planning experience, knowledge of drivers hours, tachograph rules, and experience with Transport Management Systems.

Qualificações

• Experience as a Transport Planner or similar transport planning role.
• Sound understanding of drivers' hours, working time requirements and tachograph rules.
• Experience using Transport Management Systems.
• Good geographical knowledge of the UK road network.
• Strong organisational skills and adaptability.
• Confident communication with drivers, customers and colleagues.
• Practical approach to solving problems in a busy transport environment.

Responsabilidades

• Plan daily collections and deliveries with efficient routes.
• Allocate drivers, vehicles and trailers to meet customer needs and maximise fleet use.
• Ensure plans consider drivers' hours and vehicle availability.
• Use TMS, customer portals and internal systems to manage bookings.
• Communicate instructions to drivers and handle operational issues.
• Keep customers updated on schedules, delays, and changes.
• Coordinate vehicle servicing and maintenance within transport plans.
• Coordinate driver cover, including agency drivers.
• Prepare next-day schedules and provide transport quotations as needed.
• Identify ways to improve efficiency and service standards.

Recruitable Staffing Solutions is recruiting a Transport Planner for our client's busy transport operation in Norwich. You'll play a key role in keeping collections and deliveries running smoothly, making effective use of drivers and vehicles, and keeping customers informed. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity, starting through Recruitable Staffing Solutions with a view to transferring to permanent employment with our client following a successful temporary period.

• Planning daily collections and deliveries using efficient, cost-effective routes.
• Allocating drivers, vehicles and trailers to meet customer requirements and maximise fleet utilisation.
• Ensuring transport plans take account of drivers' hours, working time requirements and vehicle availability.
• Using Transport Management Systems, customer portals and internal systems to manage bookings and schedules.
• Communicating clear instructions to drivers and responding to operational issues.
• Keeping customers updated on delivery schedules, delays and changes.
• Liaising with the workshop to incorporate vehicle servicing and maintenance into transport plans.
• Coordinating driver cover, including agency drivers when required.
• Preparing next-day schedules and providing transport quotations where needed.
• Identifying practical ways to improve efficiency and service standards.
