Job summary

Adore Recruitment Ltd is supporting a busy transport operation in West Horndon, Brentwood to recruit a Transport Planner. You'll coordinate routes, liaise with drivers and ensure schedules run smoothly, keeping the operation moving on time.

This role offers a salary of £30,000 to £35,000 DOE, Monday to Friday, with overtime potential and on-site parking. A full UK driving licence is essential due to site location.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate daily vehicle routes and schedules.
• Liaise with drivers and monitor operations.
• Prepare driver paperwork and maintain records.
• Manage driver compliance including tachographs and Hours.
• Schedule servicing and MOTs for vehicles.
• Arrange subcontractors and control costs.
• Support attendance management and cover when needed.
• Build relationships with customers and respond to needs.
• Collaborate with transport team to ensure service delivery.

Adore Recruitment is delighted to be working with a highly successful and growing organisation to recruit an experienced Transport Planner to join their busy operations team in West Horndon, Brentwood.

This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive and organised individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys being at the heart of a busy transport operation. You'll play a key role in ensuring vehicles, drivers, customers and schedules all run smoothly, keeping the business moving efficiently every day.

The Role

• Planning and coordinating daily vehicle routes and schedules
• Liaising with drivers and monitoring daily operations
• Producing driver paperwork and maintaining accurate records
• Managing driver compliance, including tachographs, drivers' hours and Health & Safety requirements
• Scheduling vehicle servicing, maintenance and MOTs
• Arranging subcontractors and managing associated costs
• Supporting attendance management and coordinating cover when required
• Building strong relationships with customers and responding to operational needs
• Working closely with the wider transport team to ensure excellent service delivery

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience within a transport planning, logistics or traffic office environment
• Knowledge of driver regulations and transport compliance
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities
• Ability to remain calm and prioritise effectively in a busy environment
• CPC qualification would be advantageous but is not essential
• Full UK driving licence and own transport required due to the location and limited public transport access
