Job summary

Recruit Assist are hiring an experienced Transport Planner for a Freight Distribution company in Hemel Hempstead. The role focuses on planning and coordinating road transport movements, delivering reliable transport solutions and making day-to-day operational decisions.

The position offers a 4 on 4 off pattern (37.5 hours/week) with an annual bonus up to 8% of basic salary and 24 days of leave including bank holidays. You will work with a small team and liaise with customers and hauliers.

Qualifications

• 1 year minimum of Transport Planning with HGV vehicles.
• Exceptional organised and able to manage multiple loads.
• Understanding and working with routing of drivers.
• Experience of routing drivers and coordinating loads.
• Strong Excel skills for scheduling and data analysis.
• Experience of working with hauliers.
• Attentive to detail with high level analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Planning and coordinating road transport movements.

• Making day-to-day operational decisions.
• Prioritising outstanding orders and consolidating loads.

Recruit Assist are hiring an experienced Transport Planner for a Freight Distribution company in Hemel Hempstead. We are preferably looking for an experienced planner who will not need a lot of training and knows the job and has a passion for logistics and transport.

The position is 4 on and 4 off with two different shift patterns:

SALARY: GBP33,000.00

SALARY BONUS: Anual performance-based bonus of up to 8% of their basic salary

• SHIFT PATTERN NR 1: 7am 5pm
• SHIFT PATTERN NR 2: 9am and 7pm
• (these shifts will be covered each week)

Work Pattern: 4 on 4 off i.e. working four days and then being off for four days, including weekend and bank holiday. Additionally depending on business situations cover shifts might be required.

• Work Hours: 37.5 hrs week
• Leave entitlement: 24 days including bank holidays
• The department currently has 5 planners + 1 Team Leader
• Company overall size: 42 employees
