Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc. is seeking a Transport Planner to join our team in the UK. You will handle route planning, ensure compliance with driving hours regulations and maintain strong relationships with customers and drivers while driving efficiency and reducing costs.

The role is Monday to Friday, 8am–5pm with some flexibility. You will provide final route plans, monitor driver progress, and manage subcontractor costs.

Qualifications

• Experience of working as a Transport Planner or similar operational role.
• Knowledge of WTD regulations is essential.
• Proficient use of Microsoft and experience of using a transport planning tool.

Responsibilities

• Provide final route plans to the warehouse operation within the agreed timescale.
• Ensure compliance with EU Drivers hours regulations.
• Monitor drivers daily progress and update the customer as required.
• Manage subcontractor costs in line with agreed rates and resolve queries promptly.
• Maintain strong relationships with customers and drivers to improve service and efficiency.
• Collaborate with the team to drive continuous improvement in transport planning.

Job description

We’re looking for a Transport Planner to join our team in Snetterton. Working within a small team, you will be driving efficiency and reducing cost delivering excellent service to our customer. You’ll be responsible for route planning, along with developing & managing real relationships with customers and drivers. You’ll ensure that our transport department always runs in an efficient and effective manner. You’ll work on a Monday - Friday basis, between the hours of 8am to 5pm, however, some flexibility is required.

• Provide final route plans to the warehouse operation within the agreed timescale to allow for picking in a timely manner
• Ensure that the legislation regarding EU Drivers hours regulations is being followed
• Deal with customer issues and monitor drivers daily progress, updating the customer as required
• Ensure that the sub-contractor costs are in line with our agreed rates ensuring that the maximum benefit is being secured and that any subcontractor financial queries are resolved in a timely manner
