Job summary

Eko Talent is seeking an experienced Transport Planner to support a growing recycling and waste management business in the UK. The role focuses on planning and coordinating daily transport operations from the depot, ensuring efficient driver routing and timely collections and deliveries.

You will ensure compliance with transport legislation, monitor vehicle availability and coordinate maintenance, while liaising with drivers, depot teams and customers to maintain high productivity and

• Plan, organise and coordinate daily transport operations from the depot.
• Oversee driver routes and ensure vehicles are allocated efficiently to maximise productivity.
• Ensure all transport activities comply with relevant transport legislation, Road Traffic Acts and company policies.
• Monitor vehicle availability and coordinate maintenance requirements and defect reporting.
• Manage daily route planning, responding effectively to changes, delays and operational issues.
• Conduct driver inductions and ensure drivers understand and comply with company procedures and operational requirements.
• Monitor driver compliance, working hours and relevant transport regulations.
• Liaise with drivers, depot teams, customers and internal departments to ensure collections and deliveries are completed efficiently and on time.
• Coordinate the movement of recyclable materials, waste and associated equipment between sites.

The Opportunity

We are working with a growing and well-established recycling and waste management business that is committed to delivering efficient and sustainable solutions across the UK.

Due to continued growth and increased operational demand, they are looking to appoint an experienced Transport Planner to join their expanding operations team.
