Job summary

Grn-Search-Group in Belfast is seeking a Transport Planner to coordinate daily vehicle movements and plan routes across the UK and Ireland. You will allocate collections and deliveries and monitor driver hours to ensure compliance.

The role is ideal for someone early in their transport career, offering progression within an established business, with weekday hours and on-site parking.

Qualifications

• Around one year or more of transport coordination, planning or operational experience.
• Experience within UK or Irish road freight - experience across both is not essential.
• A basic working knowledge of drivers' hours, tachograph legislation and WTD.
• Experience dealing directly with drivers and coordinating collections/deliveries.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• The ability to stay calm and adapt when transport plans change.

• Support the transport team to maximise fleet utilisation and service levels.

Are you relatively new to the transport industry?

Are you currently working in transport operations and ready to take the next step into planning?

If you have at least one years experience within transport coordination, planning or operations and a good understanding of either UK or Irish road freight, we'd be keen to hear from you.

The Role

• Planning and coordinating daily vehicle and driver movements.
• Routing vehicles across the UK and Ireland.
• Allocating collections and deliveries across the available fleet.
• Responding to changing customer requirements and additional orders.
• Monitoring drivers, vehicle availability and working hours.
• Communicating with drivers throughout the day and resolving operational issues.
• Liaising with customers regarding collections, deliveries and ETAs.
• Ensuring plans comply with EU Tachograph legislation and Working Time Directive requirements.
• Supporting the wider transport team to maximise fleet utilisation and maintain service levels.
