Job summary

Staffline is seeking a Transport Planner in Chilwell, Nottingham, to manage proactive load planning and fleet utilisation. The role requires strong system skills and experience in freight forwarding or transport planning, with a focus on delivering reliable service in a time‑pressured environment.

You will work Monday to Friday, 7:30 am to 5:30 pm, with full training provided and on‑site facilities including a canteen and free parking. The hourly rate is £14.42.

Staffline is recruiting Transport Planners in Chilwell, Nottingham.

The rate of pay is £14.42 per hour.

This is a full‑time role working Monday to Friday.

Hours of work: 7:30 am to 5:30 pm.

Your Time at Work

As a Transport Planner you will be responsible for:

• All assets are utilised in line with KPI targets
• Ensuring that service is delivered through proactive and accurate planning of loads
• Driving margin by fully utilizing TMS functionality and then enhancing results through proactively sourcing further backhaul opportunities to maximise fleet utilisation
• Ensuring service levels are delivered through working collaboratively with the Sub Con operation to maximise the overall service delivery KPI for customers
• Maintaining a high data accuracy in the TMS for all fleet planning activities, avoiding retrospective administration

Our perfect worker will be an industrious and busy individual with an affinity for a time‑pressurised environment. You will have good systems skills and be comfortable with modern digital systems and the application of data, combined with general large fleet operation experience.

Applicants must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and via systems.

Experience of freight forwarding or transport planning operations is essential, ideally in a network planning environment.
