Lambert Brothers are recruiting a Transport Operator to join their team at their site in Eastleigh. The role of the Transport Operator will be to plan and execute collection and delivery schedules via the most cost-efficient means, aligning with business objectives, customer service standards, and legislative requirements.

About The Job

• Utilise IT systems and vehicles fully to ensure accurate allocation of drivers, vehicles, loads, back loads, and trailers, and communicate plans to internal and external customers to enhance departmental and group efficiency.
• Maintain sufficient staffing levels, including agency staff, to meet or exceed customer requirements.
• Manage driver hours by authorising weekly timesheets, auditing, and updating hours in relevant systems to ensure compliance with regulations.
• Communicate effectively with all internal and external stakeholders, including load sheets for the warehouse, handovers, vehicle maintenance schedules, and operational delays, to ensure smooth and efficient service delivery.
• Work collaboratively within a team and participate in cross-training initiatives to provide effective cover in colleagues' absence.
• Identify, communicate, and implement continuous improvements to develop business operations further.
