Job description

Reporting into the Transport Shift Manager, the Transport Operations Support will provide general administration support to the Transport Department.

Working hours: Monday to Thursday nights, 17.00-03.30 (flexibility is required to work a 4 on 4 off shift, 19.00-07.00 at times to cover holiday.)

Salary:£26,137.50 per annum.

Key Duties of Transport Operations Support:

  • Correctly briefing and debriefing drivers.
  • Checking all timesheets and ensuring all paperwork is correct and alphabetised.
  • Checking drivers’ wallets and issuing any information, e.g., mail.
  • Printing all dispatch notes and replenishing dispatch paper as required.
  • Answering the telephone and assisting with any enquiries.
  • Downloading drivers’ cards/tachographs.
  • Ensuring all Estimated Time of Arrivals (ETAs) are communicated.
  • Updating spreadsheets including, but not limited to, trailer changeovers, run summaries, and trailer check sheets.
  • Departing loads using Warehouse Management System (WMS) and then inputting all loads that have departed.
  • Ensuring all uplifts are dispatched in correct loads.
  • Reporting any overspill and correctly completing all relevant paperwork.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience within a similar role is desirable.
  • Good attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills to deliver accurate information.
  • Able to work efficiently and accurately under pressure.
  • Ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
  • Computer literate, particularly MS Office applications (PowerPoint, Word, Excel) or equivalent.
  • Able to work as part of a team or individually.
