Job summary

Gregory Distribution Ltd is seeking an organised transport administration professional to support the Operations Manager in leading the transport team. The role focuses on coordinating activities, maintaining service levels, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

You will engage with drivers and customers, generate operational reports, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within a growing logistics business.

Qualifications

• Previous administration experience within the Transport and Logistics industry.
• Knowledge of the Working Time Directive and EU Drivers' Hours Regulations.
• Knowledge of the Manpack traffic system would be advantageous.
• Communicate with confidence and clarity at every level, building strong relationships across the business.
• Leverage your strong UK geographical knowledge to keep operations running smoothly and efficiently.
• Showcase your organisational skills by prioritising tasks and managing a busy workload with ease.
• Demonstrate sharp attention to detail and consistently hit daily deadlines.
• Work collaboratively within a supportive team while also thriving when using your own initiative.
• Utilise your proficiency in MS Office packages: Word, Excel, and Outlook, to stay on top of reporting and communication.

Responsibilities

• Support the Operations Manager in leading the transport team to maximise operational efficiency and customer service performance.
• Assist with planning and coordination of transport activities during peak and off-peak periods.
• Oversee day-to-day transport operations including driver and vehicle dispatch and debriefs.
• Work closely with key customers to ensure smooth running of operations and excellent service levels.
• Provide driver briefings and debriefings, with guidance and support as needed.
• Produce regular operational reports highlighting performance, issues, and improvements.
