Müller UK & Ireland is seeking a Transport Manager in Manchester to lead a depot-based logistics team and drive performance across operations. You will ensure safety, regulatory compliance, and efficient cost management while delivering strong service levels to internal and external stakeholders.

The role emphasizes leadership, strategic planning, and continuous improvement within a dairy logistics environment, with a responsibility to optimise rotas, staffing, and KPI attainment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 GCSEs (A-C or equivalent).
• Licence CPC Certification required.
• IOSH Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and Environmental Management Systems.
• Manage depot operations, including rota planning, staffing, and cost control.
• Deliver against KPIs and OGSM targets.

About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Transport Manager to lead our Logistics team in Manchester. You'll lead a high-performing team, drive continuous improvement, and ensure compliance with all legal and safety standards.

• Location: Manchester Depot - Trafford Park (M17 1TU)
• Contract: Full Time/Permanent
• Shift: Monday-Friday (40 hours)

Transport Manager Key Responsibilities;

• Lead and develop a high-performing logistics team.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and Environmental Management Systems.
• Manage depot operations, including rota planning, staffing, and cost control.
• Deliver against KPIs and OGSM targets.
• Drive customer service excellence for both internal and external stakeholders.
• Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives.
• Ensure legal compliance for drivers and vehicles.
• Conduct performance reviews, training, and disciplinary procedures.

• Proven experience in senior-level transport operations.
• Strong leadership, coaching, and people management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

• Knowledge of haulage legislation and employment law.
